shiny/redish shell spots on turtle

was feeding my partners turtles a couple of days ago and saw these shiny, redish, almost oily looking spots on one of the murrays shell. I haven't been able to get pics of it as the spots only show up under water. I have done some googleing and it was of little help, any ideas?
