Hi, I got home today and my 1 of my beardies doesn't seem to have any real life in him. His tummy has deflated and become skinny, he is lethargic and non responsive. I sat him in his water bowl just to see if he was just sleepy, and he couldn't lift his head above the water. Temp: 29c in centre and Hum: 40%. He is in mid shed and looks reasonably dark, i have noticed that there is some bumps (whiteish/yellowish) appearing on his body. I have another beardie in the same enclosure and he is perfectly fine. I am not located anywhere near a reptile vet so I couldnt take him to one until sunday at the earliest, and I dont think he can make it that long.

Seperate the two to begin with. If it is a serious problem, and you cant go to the vet, then all i can say is good luck

Mites? Worms? atm I'd be putting him on his own - if you've no possibility of this, leave him in the warm & move the other one out o/night. Soak him in tepid water for 20mins while we wait for someone more knowledgeable. Where do u live?

Boost his Temp up to around 32C ...... and make sure he has UVb over him and he hes that weak you might have to force feed him Crickets dusted in Calcuim.... give them to him like that every feed ..... up untill he starts to gain his strength back ....

Groove, can u at least ring a reptile vet & see if u can email him details? He doesn't sound good at all:(

Camera is not working, He is about 6-8 months old. He was standing on all 4's just now, I bumped his temp up after a warm bath. he has a little more life, but still no where near normal.
Thanks people

Almost the same thing happened to one of mine, except for the bumps.

I separated them fed him warm baby food to keep him going until he would be able to hunt crickets, now he is as happy and fat as can be.

All i can think of is you are keeping them too cold young bearded dragons require temps of 40-44 degrees celsius. If he seems a bit more lively after a little boast in temp try boasting it the temp up more and see how he goes. Were you burmating them?

Thanks for your help, He made it through the night, and a friend has volunteered to take him to the vet on my behalf. He is enroute there now.

Great - pleased to hear he's still alive!! & you're getting him to the vet. Let us know what the verdict is.
Remember to get those temps up to the 40-44C basking spot too.
So hope he pulls thru - Kathy

R.I.P - GT. He died a few hours after seeing the vet. Thanks for you help everyone. The problem may have been genetic from inbreeding, but they can't tell for sure.

:cry::cry::cry:

So sorry for u Groove - real sad to lose one.

Thanks, he was the first one I have lost. I am selling all my reptiles now.

Groove WHY?????
I lost one of the first one's I got 8mths on, my fault due to bad husbandry. I went the opposite way & became obsessed with having happy healthy beardies - 18 of them later LOL.
Having one reptile die doesn't make u the worst owner in the world, that only happens if you don't figure out what u did wrong, if it was even your fault.
But ultimately your decision.
