I know your supposed to keep snake enclosures simple, with plenty of hiding spots, but how simple am I supposed to keep it? Like, what things should I have in it? ( this is for a hatchling Diamond X Coastal Carpet python )

Thanks in advance!

A little tub would be enough, with newspaper on the bottom, couple toilet paper rolls, and a little branch to climb on, thats it.

cheers
Mark

If you want something more attractive go with BC. and also get a hide rock from URS and rock water bowl as well, although will cost a bit more it will look a lot nicer and it's worth it especially if it is the only snake you currently have in posession.
Cheers

:p Imho make your own hides, beeing a larger species of snake you will be buying hides monthly. :p

I JUST LOVE THE GLOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Should I have the water dish large enough for it to soak or is it still to young? ....I'm worried about it drowning..

Dish

BB, there's nothing wrong with having a large water dish (large in width), just make sure that it's shallow enough for it to get out again if needs be.

The standard water dish from herp shops should be fine.

it shouldn't be able to drown. All pythons are capable of swimming. But make sure that the snake can easily get out of the water dish. Make sure that it is not too deep either.

What i do is every week soak my all my reptiles for about 10 minutes in warm-not too warm so that they will get burnt- water. I have found that this improves their sheds and their scales generraly

He wont drown. I would put in a large water bowl for him to soak in.

That's what I do with my beardie. I pop him in the bath with a towel on the bottom so he can move around and grip it, and fill up the bath with warm water until its just past his lateral fringe....Sometimes he also like me to scrub his tummy with a flannel.....But that's just Spike.... :D

Hey, just make sure the bowl is shallow, but he should be alright anyway..........

I'll give you a tip that will save you soaking your reptiles every week and have the better result.
Once or twice a year i rub olive oil on my larger snakes excluding the head. It brings out the shine and they keep that shine for many sheds later and it also makes it easier for the big fellas to get the skin off. It also helps get rid of scale kinks. I don't think theres any reason to do it on small snakes though.
