In October last year, for example, 40,000 pieces of air-dried python and monitor lizard skins worth $800,000 were seized from an Indonesian tugboat carrying crates of plywood products here

What good are skins anyway ???

I assume that was a joke ? Have you never seen boots, handbags, belts, jackets, purses and just about anything made of leather is made from reptile skin.

well Duh Afro, see the angry smiley? aint there for nothin.

yes Boa I have seen that stuff :( I meant what good to nature (sarcasm of sorts)

Just urinates me off , if they were eating the lizards and snakes and the skins were by product it wouldnt be such waste of life. Eitherway it makes me cranky.

Coud be a business opportunity. Breed and grow herps, kill em and make accessories out of em. I'm sure coles and woolies would jump at the chance to sell carpet steaks so there was no wastage.
