My mum just came to me and said that one of her geckos is really thin which it is. Its tail is very small which is where i was lead to believe they store fat. I just opened his mouth and gave him a cricket which he ate. Is there much more I can do other than make sure he is getting food?

feed him in a small tub so you can monitor him closely and see how many crickets or woodies he eats, also makes it easier for him to catch his food.

p.s don't leave him alone with live insects in a small tub as they may bite him.

Pull the back legs off his crickets and use nice fat ones. Woodies are able to easily climb out of reach up the sides of tanks etc so maybe stick with crickets for now. Only put a few in (2-3) at a time as too many will make them freak out and concentrate on getting away from food rather then eating it.

Make sure he is in an enclosure of his own. Check the temperatures of his enclosure. Make sure it has a hot end of around 30 degrees celcius and a room temperature end. Spray the room temperature end with water twice per week. Feed every 2nd day and try to dust the feed with calcium or vitamin supplement 2 every 3 feeds.

If you can do all this, you will give him the best chance of a recovery.
