Snake Cage and Heating Pad Size

Hi have brought a 1200 X 450 X 450 mm Snake Cage for a Peublan Milk Snake that I got form one of my Friends...
I was just wandering how big Heating Pad I must get for the Cage to have the correct ratio vs Hot and Cold...
I have read on the net some advise 1/3 of the Cage for the Hot spot and other said 50% of the Cage...
If any one could give me some advice it would be greatly appreciated

Hey,
I would think either 1/3 or 50% would be fine, I couldn't imagine it would make much difference as long as the heat mat is big enough to cover the floor of your hot hide and reach your desired temps you should be good. I have a similar tank size to you for an Antaresia and my heat mat is about 30X30cm and 14W, havn't had any problems with it yet.

20watt, most are 42x28cm should work well
