Are we talking an actual sound you can hear?

Are the snakes really angry? My Diamond takes the defensive pose when I try to take her out and I have never heard her make a sound, nor with my Stimson, but then I am not a Parseltongue so maybe I just don't hear snakes talk.

Given that I have had a lot of serious well thought out answers I would argue that it was probably not a silly question.

I have an adult coastal who hisses, but he's never got into the strike pose and has never bitten me or anyone else I know. I've him for a year now, he seems comfortable where he's living, he sleeps in the open where everyone can see him. I figure the hissing is just something he does, in his case I don't think it's necessarily a threat display. Give your snake some time to settle in, it should be fine and if the hissing continues make sure you're gentle with the snake and don't handle it too much ;)

Jeez Jack chill out man I thought it was funny it's not like they are having a crack at you. I had a 6th diamond that used to hiss every time I reached into his tank but never bit me and was fine as soon as I picked him up. I think it's more of a threat hoping that u will leave him alone.
