My baby spotted trys to escape through the air holes, theres no way he could get through them, but he still tries.. is this normal?, he basically tries to push his head through... and just wondering if he could do any damage to himself, cause it looks like he pushes pretty hard.

Thanks

yes its is very common for snakes to try and escape like that, just make sure your snake cant get its head stuck in something as my spotted tries to get through her glass doors and gets her snout stuck. as a result she had a slight scab which took 2 months to go away. 3 sheds in 5 weeks (so strange).all fixed now with some rubber but i learnt my lesson. hope it helps just triple check all holes and gaps.

You should check the temps if it's too hot or if it's searching for a heat source, maybe it's hungry and is looking for food, smells food nearby and snakes doesn't know its in captivity mate so if it's trying to escape then i guess that's normal or is settling down. mine did that for a while and settled down.

He doesnt do it all the time, just catch him doing it every now and then, hes probably just exploring, I have a heat mat at 35 degrees over 1/3 of it, so heat shouldnt be a problem, and its feeding day today, about to feed him now

Don't worry about that, my adult spotted does the same thing. Temperature are fine, she just like to explore. Sometimes when she's doing this, I open the door, and most of the time she decides she doesn't want to come out after all! lol.

my 1yr old olive spends alot of time trying to push the vents out too. Its probaly a food thing because my little boy is always hungry. hopefully one day his head will be too big to put in their and then the problem will be solved ? ;)
