They best way to avoid bad husbandry/setting a bad example is by not doing it in the first place. If he really wants to free handle vens it should be done in his own time. Why can't he tail them and use a hook like most everyone else?

To be honest i like the fact he does free handle the vens during the show. He continually reminds people during the show, don't do this to wild animals etc, so i figure if you still cant hammered after ignoring his wanring then tough luck.

Also by showing them in that state, being free handled etc alot of people walk away and go WOW it actually makes some people realise they arent that bad as the papers make them out to be. The parks show actually changes peoples attitudes and some have commented that they would never shoot a snake again after seeing this show. Surely that's a good thing.

Wrasse, you can't miss this park, it is awesome. Dad who is a top chef by trade and a bif of a food conisseuer swears by the pommie chef at Cairns Zoo. He reckons they are the best damn burgers he's ever had. He also recommends the pies at Longreach. Well, i think its Longreach otherwise its Winton but i will check for you. He said the pies there were fabulous. Kuranda is great for shopping, Atherton is lvoely and my folks also stayed at Mission Beach. ALSO check out the crocodylus resort in the Daintree. Ensuite cabins are only 75 per night and in the heart of Cape Trib.

i was up there a month ago and loved it, Ian and Jamie are jus top blokes and the way they have there pits setup was amazing i still cant believe they free handled there elapids. there was only 2 downers on that day, it was to hot and i had to go home . wish my setups were that good

Hey Simone you are definetly not alone up here, there are herp addicts absolutely everywhere. I am slightly further north at Stunning Town of 1770, but regularly go to visit my family in H bay. Childers is just in my back yard!! Been to the Reptile park a few times, and although it is only a small place, spent almost all day there.
Looking at the displays and chatting to Jamie and Ian, I learnt so much in such a short time!! Let me know if you are planning anything, and I will sure to be there. Also let me know if you (or anyone) else is coming to Town of 1770, and we can meet up!!!

I am having a few days at Bagara early next month to see the turtles at Mon Repos Beach, and I was thinking about stoping in at Reptiles Down Under. Afetr hearing the reviews will definately be giving it a look.

Awesome, i nearly ended up at Agnes water, got a job offer with Miriam Vale, but accepted Tiaro as it was cheaper living. Will be looking for a property at 1770/Agnes soon i think.

Great place, i have been going there since we moved to Hervey Bay, Ian is a sensational bloke with a heap of knowledge and the place is just getting better and better.
If anyone is up for a trip and maybe a bbq (drink) we should organise something.

Sounds like a plan but we better move quick only 3 weekends left,
There are a few good places in the bay for a drink or bbq and i have heaps of room if anyone needs to crash camp or whatever or we can just drink and have a bbq here and then go out lol i'm easy.
