Hey guys :) I've been thinking about getting a lizard for just over a month now and I've heard so many things about different types. So I figured why not talk to some experts (I hope!)

So here's the thing, I have a 3 foot tank ready to go to have whatever done to it I need.
I'm thinking a small lizard - nothing that grows to big once its mature.
OR turtles.

So as a beginner at these things, ANY advice is most appreciated :)
Cheers!

Hey there Lady Calais.
This would be absolutely perfect for a pygmy bearded dragon. THey only grow to 25 cm head to tip of tail. They are very friendly mine loves sleeping on me or being held.
I have mine in a 3 foot tank and its perfect.

You could also get a central bearded dragon which are bigger but your tank would be the absolute minimum for one of these dragons which basically are a bigger version of the pygmy.

These in my eyes are the best lizards as you can play with them and also watch them. They are fascinating and best of all they are alert during the day. Most geckos or anything like that are awake at night so you don't really get to see them much.

Hi Lady I would say gekoes or bearded dragon would suit you and the size of the encloser

Thanks Grogshla for the sound advice :) definitely keeping that in mind.

Pythrulz, what kind of gecko?

Airlie, Blueys have been on my mind but I'm not sure on them yet.

I got a Bluey as my first reptile and i love her. I have her out nearly all day she lets me hand feed her and is very gentle. Very easy to look after aswell. Also if you think about breeding you don't need an incubator for them.

Melanistic coal black blue toungues from snake ranch grrrrwwwwwwwww

it definately depends on what you want....
do you want to handle it?
how much will you pay?
space available?
time available?

otherwise, its just pointless....we can help, if we know what you want

i will start by giving you some cool little dragons,

red barred dragon
painted dragon
netted dragons
peninsula dragon
pygmy bearded dragon

some gecko's
knob tailed gecko
thick tailed gecko
marbled velvet gecko

some skinks

eastern water skink
pygmy bluetongue (might have trouble finding these)

erm, as far as skinks go, smaller skinks are a lot rarer, and hard to get

Well yes I want to handle it.
I'd pay anything up to maybe about $150 ea
3 foot tank.
Time I'm home 85% of the time - if I'm not mum is.

Also I only have a basic license.
