Hi guys, It looks like my levis has a scratch or sore on the top of her head and I was wondering if there was any antibacterial cream or something that I could use to help keep it clean and heal?

Thanks

Being as Betadine (ointment or tincture?) is often suggested for pythons, I wonder if this would be alright to use on gex?

I would be interested to hear the answer from some of the more experienced keepers.

I for one have used dulited betadine to help heal a foot sore on a beardie (there was a thread about this).

You get a little dish and put 6-7 drops of betadine in then twice th amount of drops of water then get a cottonbud (preffebly the one you use for clean ears).

Then you dip it in the solution and dab it over the sore, until you think you've put enough on then let to dry.

A week or 2 after look to make sure it has healed well, that means if the scales/skin is appearing over the sore,it may take a few months before there is no sign of there being a scar, the one on my beardies foot still has a sign of damage.

Hope this advice helps

Thanks guys, one more question, I had a male in with her but didn't think she was pregnant however I was too late and found some bad eggs about 2 weeks ago, after that I realised the male kept biting her, not on the back as if they were about to... ahem... but on the legs, on the tail etc so I've since had them apart but this morning she's been headbutting the sand in the wet area? Is this a part of making tunnels or could this be a sign she's preparing a laying area?

Males bite the females tail, legs, and body during mating, if the sore is at the top of the head then it is likely caused by the male. For this reason it is best to keep the males / female seperatly.

Did/does she look gravid? You can generally tell. And you can generally tell when they have laid also.
She will look a little....deflated :D

Thanks, my suspicion was confirmed, two white eggs just laid... Will they be ok in the damp sand until I return home from work? I've just graduated and still on my probabtion period and can't see work being too happy if I'm late today?

If you can see the eggs (finding them is sometimes time consuming) it doesn't take long to put them in a tub on a heat mat?

Not sure whether they will be ok till you get home?
