My spotted occaisonally puffs up his throat and makes a clicking almost bubbling popping sound.

He has done this for the best part of his life but it has normally been accompanied by a deflating hissing sound. I always assumed this was him telling me to leave him alone. But am worried about the new noise his throat puffing is associated with.

He moved from townsville to canberra about 3/4 weeks ago, his tank is heated with a heat matt and light , he has eaten his last two feeds, he doesnt drool, still uses his tongue plenty, doesn't star gaze and appears healthy in every other way.

Should i be concerned?

Thanks

Yeah I think i'll have to. Like I said he has always puffed his throat but normally he makes a deflating hissing type noise. This new noise has me worried espec coz I only just flew him down from townsville to canberra.

Better to be safe then sorry

i would like to know to plz

i was cleaning my blond mac last night shed was not great and she puffed her throat up and made a weird sound i just shrugged it off to she was pissed i was putting her in water lol but now i am thinking it might be the rame thins im now worried due to she is housed with another spotted and im dead (the miss's) if he and she are sick

also what is RI

RI is respiratory infection . . I took mine to the vet and he had a mild RI so he had an antibiotic shot and I turned up the heat a bit . .cleared up and he's fine now . . RI's in snakes are especially dangerous as they only have one lung . . so if in doubt a trip o the vet is in order

well thats a good! what worried me was that I had just moved mine from Townsville to Canberra and it had been going on for a couple of wks . . Hasn't happened since thank goodness, I have a soft spot for my spotted - him being my first snake n all . .
