cute picture...are frogs easy to keep?

Hey Dan,

Yes, the froggies in the photo are Green tree frogs. They are, in my opinion, the best frogs for beginners as they are very easy to keep as long as their husbandry requirements are met. My enclosure is taller rather than wide, as, being tree frogs these guys love to climb. They are nocturnal so they tend to come out and play at night time and hide during the day. PM or email me if you want more info!

and Craig- LOL!!!

8) Mr instar, your battering your sav again,i know freddos are common its the separate licence stuff thats silly. All the separate lic fees mate is pain like i had catch and release, photographic, reptile and theres amphibian and they go into class 2s that get expensive.I dropped two cause of expense and would think it would be common sense to put reptiles and amphibians together as the societies do. :D

RE: re Stacks

Yeah Oldie, in vic reps and amphibians are on the same licence. Only two "keeper" licences, basic and advanced but there is not as much on our "list" as yours I believe.

RE: re Stacks

Oldfella...what Afro said!! I think we're really lucky down here to be able to keep reptiles and amphibians (or Freddos...a much better word to describe them!!) on the same licence, but as Afro said, you guys get to keep more stuff than we do. I never understood why this is the case...for example we are allowed to keep smooth knob tails here but not rough knob tails but they are essentially, other than the texture of their skin, the same gecko! It is pretty typical though; we are only allowed to keep 2
species from the genus Oedura, even though closely related species are very common in captivity elsewhere. On the flip side, we are allowed to keep D. Conspicillatus, which ONLY eats termites - try feeding them! Who knows where we can buy termites from?? In short it is a crazy list drawn up by public servants who have no idea what they are talking about - don't get me started!

Afro, I'm not so polite now am I??

Kindest regards

Michelle

I'm with Oldfella. Reptiles and amphibians on the same licence. Maybe a test as well. Less money for them but more education for the keeper.

You know guys the amount of Freddo lics in NSW is very small and allott of that has to do with paying a fee for a lic which is large in comparison to the price of a little litoria freddiensis.Easier by far to put amphibians and reptiles on one lc and ime not surprised to hear that its the case in some other states as its a better management decision.Like would yo pay a enforcement officer or two to check for contraband freddos in an age where people is facing terrorism threats? It would however be publicly acceptable to check on reptile and amphibians collections (maybe uncle jeff could put a spin on it like NPWS stops keeping and spread of Evil noxious Bufo Freddo terrorist threat from the north) :p
