i have just been given a starving bearded dragon adult, whats the best food to get some weight on him? he is tame, i gave him some crickets yesterday cause that all i had on hand and i put some vegies in with him but he's not interested in them, i have him under a UV light which he is loving

what suggestions do you guys have? i have owned them before but ive never seen one in this bad of condition

Try woodies and if you can get them silkworms or pinky mice just don't feed too much too quick lots of luck with him

totally agree with ynot64, small feeds at a time, def pinkys, that's what i feed my females after laying for condition, also if u can put him outside nothin beats the sun,ill do him the world of good.good luck :)

if hes eating anything will be good,..

careful of things like pinkies, beardies dont handle fat tooo well,..and since hes already in an anorexic state his liver might have a fit with a large sudden influx of fat.

much better pushing a heathy diet of greens/salads and woodies, offer greens for the first few hours of the day in the hope he has a nibble, then offer woodies or crickets. Obviously hes not gonna touch the salad if hes offered woodies first,...but leave a salad in with him all day regardless

dont forget the calcium supplement,..

if its eating but not putting on weight, it might be infested with parasites,...

i've taken in some horribly thin beardies, if hes taking food he'll bounce right back.
