hi everyone, i posted a thread a while back in regards to my spotted who sheds alot, i thought he might grow out of it but he is still shedding after every feed, he doesnt have mites, and is very active and healthy, he gets fed every 7-12 days and is on fuzzies. temps are 25-32. any ideas as to whats going on would be greatly appreciated. also he has alot of troubles shedding, he has never completed one on his own and always needs my assistance.

enclosure, not a big one though as he is still pretty small, the substrate is coconut bark

Have you put UV in the enclosure?
If you have the python could be getting to much UV causing the python to continulay shed.
You do not need UV with pythons unless its a Diamond.
Take out the UV & after 1 shed it will greatly reduce its shedding to a normal growth shed only every 6 weeks or so depending on feeding & age, excetra.

Without seeing your set up. All I could suggest is rappid shedding through stress.

Was the enclosure 2nd hand? A 2nd hand enclosure can retain the smell of another reptile and that could stress you little guy out.
As its a spotted, how old a big is it?
Do you have any hides in the enclosure (1 at hot end, 1 at cool end, 1 in middle)?
It might have too much space, with out enough hides to feel secure.

he has a red light, i dont think its uv. is this a bad light to use?

No Red lights has no UV.
Wouldnt be the UV tproblem then!
There could be a lot of differant things that can cause constant shedding put up a pic of your enclosure.

he has at least three hides, and his made some more of his own, here is a pic of the enclosure, he is about 9 months old now and has been doing this since i got him, he can now span from one end to the other of the enclosure so i dont think its too big. and i bought it brand new.

thats when i first got him, he is nowhere near that small anymore

When my spotted was that young, she shed after almost every feed. There were never any changes to her enclosure (click clack), she was never stressed at all. It slowed once she got to around a year old.
