Its been 1 month & our 6 month ol stimmie wheatbelt has not been interested in eating. Shes in click clack, small. Temps I found were maybe to warm 33-34. Turned it down abit. Tryed tuna on pinkie rat, also Quail laced rats. Pierced head of rats, egg yolk.....any ideas would be appreciated. Other 7 pythons eating extremelyyyy well- 2 year ol diamond, 3 year ol bredli, 8 mth ol roughie , 2-6 mth ol darwins, 6 mth ol cape york all good eaters. Stimmie just crawls straight over food, not interested in the slightest. Have left it in her enclosure for a couple hrs to no avail. Now housed in bigger click clack with hide still no eat.

How warm is the food when you offer it to her? ....Have you moved the mouse around in your fingers to make it look alive?

I know my hatchies snakes won't take their food unless it is tong fed to them :p

Yeah tongs, wiggled, even bumped her body abit, not to create alarm in her though. have also left it on paper for her, straight out of hot water but cooled a couple minutes.

why rat? I have 2 6month old stimmies that just had their first hopper mice yesterday. I would have expected yours to either be on fuzzy mice or hopper mice based on my own situation.

offer a fuzzy mouse instead and I think you wont have any problems. Ive heard that switching from mice to rats is difficult but not sure why you would want to with a hatchie antaresia.

I wouldn't worry too much. Should start feeding again in spring. They can go 6 months easily enough without food.

Yeah we know this is the cooler months and they go off there food, and also went through it with our roughie for well over a month. It just starts to haunt me after awhile when she is still tiny to, so I thought Id put it out there. I appreciate all advice also..

I know someone who lost a 3 month old hatch and found it alive 11 months later. Hadn't grown so obviously didn't eat.

The problem will be with your heating! The temps you quoted are fine and suitable but where it maybe lacking is in the very early hours of the morning 3am onward where you may find the temp drop is a bit too much. If hatchie/juvie Ants are kept right they will keep feeding right through their first winter!
