I know this is a bit repetitive, because there are a lot of posts about snakes not eating, and i have been reading over them, but i just want a quick little checklist of all the things i need to check are right, because my Stimpson that i have had for about 4yrs since he was a baby has just decided he is on a hunger strike...

So he was eating normally up until about 2 months ago, he shed his skin and hasnt eaten since.

its been a long time since he has caused me any hassle and so i wanted to make sure i havent forgotten any of the basic things that i need to check are right

thanks :)

Check your temps?
Also enclosure size? I know he is 4, but has he grown and needs something bigger?
Only reason I ask about enclosure size is that my son's Childrens stopped eating for 2-3 months, we put him in a bigger enclosure, and SNAP! The last 2 feeds he has taken with gusto!

Maybe it was just a coincidence....but it makes me very happy :D

I am not sure of other people's opinions on this but there is a product around called "Mouse Maker", comes in a little bottle with a dropper. Has worked for me in the past but this stuff is not around much anymore.
Anyways you have come to the right place for help, I hope everything goes well.

hese not on a hunger strike he wants a female my male eats well from october through to february then stops eating despite temps dosent usually start eating again untill september/october i think it does them good as long as they are in good condition

This is something stimmies do at this time of year! Our breeding males start to refuse feeds in Febuary as a rule and wont feed again untill september.
As long as the animal is in good condition it will be fine.
Recheck your temp ranges and try to offer a feed for another few weeks and if he doesnt take it you will know he is finished for the season.

Very interesting... Well he is very healthy I took him to the place I bought him a few months ago for a check up and she wanted to buy him haha

So i was thinking that he was hungry because he is still very active ... But could that be because he is looking for a mate? His temp is on 28-30 on a thermostat. He is usually really good and only won't eat if he is about to shed, or if there is something wrong withthe mice (he eats again if I buy new ones)

my male childrens python isnt eating either his three months old hasnt eating since i got him two weeks go i thought it might be the weather
