Hey all, Ive had my 10 month old stimmie for around 5 weeks now. When I bought him, I also acquired a hatch setup that the breeder sold and he also give me 10 pinkie mice. The breeder said to start from the smallest pinkie and go from there. I am confused because he didn't give me an idea where I should move him up. Ive fed him 5 times so does anyone have any ideas when I should bump him up

do you have any picture to show its size?
it should be on adult mice or so - pinkies arent good for much except hatchling antaresias

He's much to small for adult mice

I would think he would need to be on weanling mice but I dont know

it is too small for adult mice, it shouldn't get there for a few months yet;beware of over feeding as it could bring on fatty liver disease.Feeding too big too soon only leads to problems. My Pygmy Banded Python has a stretched sphincter from eating too large and now can't defecate and can't mate and possibly will have to be put down :(

After speaking to Peter Birch who is Australia's Antaresia expert he recommended 6 feeds at each size, so 6 pinkies,6 fuzzies ,6 hoppers etc. but all snakes are not the same and might not be ready for the upgrade, you have to go by your instinct. If they struggle to eat sometime it is better to offer 2 small mice rather than 1 large item

Just curious, the breeder did tell me the pinkies were three months worth of food. I don't know if he meant to imply that I finish the pinkies but he didn't give me any correlation to when to upgrade him. I also need to try to convince my parents that he needs to go up
