Hey guys. Whats the best substate for womas ?! Atm i have him on newspaper, but in the month or two, im gunna make the tank look good ! Soo what do i need like plants vines etc

I use Oz pet Benji works great very absorbent and it looks good to :) It can be purchased from Pet barn or you could always try you local pet shop :)

Caleb.

yeh oz pet is good but it's hard to get. Here in sydney aspen bedding is everywhere and works a charm for me

Kritters crumble is my preference, when I first put my woma on the kritters (previously only been on newspaper) he went nuts burrowing through it. IMO keeping a burrowing species without a substrate it can burrow in is like keeping a GTP without a perch

for some reason to me it looks like he has turned that box into his own little fort. i blv it needs a "no girls allowed" sign

Coco peat is a good and cheap choice. It is the husk of coconuts and is a nice loose substrate. It looks a bit like brown mulch so it looks natural and appealing. It is cheap and a small block covers quite a large area. It is also very safe as if it is ingested it can be easily digested unlike things like sand. Aspen is ok but not quite as safe and I personally wouldn't use it.
Oz pet is great too, just a bit more pricey.

hope i helped

As the previous post mentions, critter crumble is excellent too. similar to coco peat and a really safe appealing substrate. It would be my choice.

I don't think so but you might have to check that. You can definitely get it at all pet stores or pet centres. well most at least

Okay thanks Dreaper :)

$13 - $15 a bag depending on where you get it from, its compressed so a bag goes a long way, one bag will easily do a few large enclosures, spot clean when needed and then completely replace every 5 or 6 weeks. You can also get kitty's crumble in larger bags so more economical its exactly the same as the fine grade kritters (produced by the same company)

Kritter crumble is about $20 - $25 per bag here in Vic and we have 2 varieties, course and fine. The course looks similar to repti bark and the fine looks more like coco peat. One bag would give you about a 1 inch layer in a 3ft x2ft enclosure.

My tanks 97 long and i think about 60 widee, i found kritter krumble for 17 bucks on amzing amazonn, will i need fine or coarse ?

$20 - $25! Its not even that much at pet barn here

I use fine, but either will work. How much is postage to get it from vic?

I doubt freight will be cheap, if you go on kritters website you can search for your nearest store, i'm sure that will be cheaper then getting a bag shipped from melb
