hi guys just a quik question,
can i get away with not using a heat lamp for my carpet snake and just use a heat mat with a thermastat??

hey matt, i have a heat mat and no lamp in my carpet enclosure. But at this time of year i dont even have the mat on. They dont need it

hey buddy,

do u have a thermastat on it and what degrees?

It's good to have about 32 degrees. You don't have to have a lamp, but I use one as my carpets like to bask in their branch.... Unlike Sam, I keep the heat on through the summer cause I keep my house well bellow 30 degrees. If you keep your pythons outdoors it could be a different story... At the end of the day your snake needs enough heat to safely digest its food. Otherwise there is a real risk of food poisoning...

ok ,so ill be fine then if i set heat pad fot 34deg ?and no lamp?
