My sons central bearded dragon's end half of it's tail is limp and also appears a bit soggy. She is about 7 months old. This apppears to of happened quite quickly. We would appreciate any advice
She is with another female the same age but she is a bit smaller. We found her sitting away from the heat and her tail was limp and damp and because ot this there was sand sticking to it. We have put her under the heat and it appears to be drying. We are trying to work out how to attatch pictures.
The only thing I can think of is that she has been bitten or had the tail damaged by some other means. How old is your son?
Is it possible that she is being picked up by her tail or is it possible that something in the cage has fallen and damaged her tail?
In any extent I'm pretty sure that she will lose her tail by what you have described. Pics would help greatly though. Generally when tails are damaged they will die off and eventually fall off. Sometimes depending on the severity of the problem a Vet might be needed.
When in doubt Vet, although I don't think a Vet is needed. It's not a good pic but Ipersonally think the tail has been nibbled on. It will die (about half way along) and fall off. The beardie should be perfectly healthy.
I would separate the animals temporarily to ensure no further damage is done.
