Firstly a croc should only be taped when used in demonstrations, being patted or in the close vicinity of the general public, privately kept crocs should not need it, if you can't handle it don't own it. They will make noise even with the tape on, even the bigger ones, mine usually grumble!

There is not a great deal if bacteria in their mouths unless you don't filter the water properly, they have very clean mouths, especially freshies!

We only use medical tape on our small crocs and velcro on the larger ones, that way no residue and no bruising from elastic bands.

To allow people to pat an unrestrained croc (not taped) is irresponsible and I can assure you that should a bite occur the owner would be 100% liable as they have not taken all precautions necessary to reduce the risk of bite!

I never heard the one my friend keeps make a noise until I put it on the floor one day, then never witnessed so much commotion! It squeaked its head off and was going the chomp at any opportunity - other than that it was happy enough in my hand (un-taped) :p

You wanna tape its mouth shut to stop it from calling out?
What the hell is wrong with you? Croc's mouths are only taped to avoid being bitten. Would you tape your dogs mouth up if it were barking lot?
Your just an idiot! If you can't deal with the noises they make, you shouldn't have them as a pet in the first place!!!!

Geez, some people....

I will also add that handing snakes around a group without the demonstrator having control also increases the risk of bite and again makes your insurance void as you have not done everything reasonably practical to reduce the risk of bite!

I don't really think he cares. He hasnt even replied to justify himself. If you look at his 4 posts, its obvious he is one of those people who get reptiles to get attention, "Look at me, look at me"

meh, sorry guys, his initial post just really upset me
