Hey guys just a quick question planing on buying a thermostat to run a tub rack with a heat cord for geckos is the Microclimate Ministat 300 a good thermostat to run a rack and later on run 2 racks on the 1 thermostat will be going to kellyvile pets tomorrow to get a thermostat and just wanted to check if the Microclimate Ministat 300 is suitable for what I need.

Thanks

Microclimate ministat will do the job but your better off getting a microclimate b1 or b2, or a habistat dimming thermostat as these hold a much more constant temperature instead of flicking on and off all the time.

What are the advantages of a dimming thermostat on a tub rack with a heat cord.

Dimming thermostat dims the power to maintain a constant temperature with little variation, whereas a switching stat (ministat, etc) switches on and off and allows the temperature to fluctuate within a couple of degrees of the desired temperature.
