Hi all,
I built a nice vivarium with my son awhile back, just when we were thinking of getting a stimson. Now that he' s with us, I am looking at upgrading the thermostat from the basic dial type to a pulse or dimming type, something along the lines of a microclimate type.

My predicament is, are there other varieties thermostats on the market that can control heat emitters evenly, rather than highs and lows in heat extremities?

and if so which ones pulse or dimming ?

Day and night ranges ?

help I am a little confused right now!!!!

It really depends on what your trying to control a bulb, heat mat, ceramic, or heat cord? Then you can look into which thermostat is suitable, but from memory dimming thermostats are the best overall. Followed by pulse. If you look at the herp shop website they have a table in the habistat thermostat range that explains it fairly simply.

I just adjust the day and night temps each day but if you can afford to get the auto why not! go for it mate!

Hope this helps some what...

Sorry for heat emitters I use the dimming thermostats for sure! It does a good job, brands to look at are Australian Reptiles, Habistat or Microclimate (which I know nothing about, cause I only use the first two brands.)
