:Dhey all i just got 2 thicktailed geckos and had the following questions
-how can u tell there sex ?
-what age can they breed?
-how long do they live?
-is crickets and roaches all they eat?
-how many can be housed together?
-and last do they need a drinking bowl ur just be misted with water everyday?
wil post pics soon;)

cheers reece

pics pics pics!!! lol :) I can't tell ya too much about them though!

Hey Reece,

You can sex thick-tails reece by looking at their vent on the underside. In males they are two very obvious hemipenal bulges visible. These will only be visible though on males of maturity. If they are juvis and there are no bulges present, it may still be male. They can live over 10 years as far as my understanding goes. They can breed quite early on - I have heard some people saying the following season if they are fed enough; however I think you can expect them to breed at their second season. You can house as many as you like together but it is best to stick with one male only per colony. I keep a drinking bowl in mine...

Cheers,
Andrew

I also use a waterbowl but have never seen them use it, mine also love small moths, probably more so then roaches.

the pics arnt the best, crap camera lol need a new 1:lol:

Hmmm.. I have a question too...

Do thick-tails climb?? I know they couldn't climb glass, but do they like branches or rocky outcrops or anything like that?

Yes, my Underwoodisaurus climb every night on their branches.
And the breeder where I got them told me that his geckos climb quite a lot.
