Thought for sure this pelican was going to get smashed.

I've seen some birds wonder right into strike distance of crocs before, particularly those white herons. I've never seen one get tagged or even struck at yet.

i volunteered at david fleays wildlife park and for some time a juv water dragon use to sit on our big males head... but then he disappeared lol:p

I was kicking back on a boat at Corroborree Billabong one day when a heron that had been sitting peacefully on the water began to take flight - hadn't gone more than a foot or so above the water when SNAP!! Gone.

I've seen magpie geese taking their chicks from one side of Coroboree to the other. Started with 8
and between the crocs and the sea eagles not one made it to the other side. Not sure why they were crossing the river
looked the same on both sides to me.

Also know of a lady who keeps a saltie wandering round her back yard with 1/2 doz chickens.
Seems weird but the chickens are all still bopping around uneaten.

Pretty much picked that, looks like a nice size saltie.

I always like to take interstate visitors to Corroboree - it offers such a unique wildlife experience so close to Darwin.
