Yeah, I know I'm slack, but can't be bothered looking  Can someone please give me some ideas on where to be looking for escapees please? I know of an 8yr old boy here in Renmark, who has a hatchie Children's, and its escaped. I want some ideas on where to look for it, so I can email it to his parents, ok? Thanks, Cheryl

There are alot of techniques that people use. I've left warm fuzzies out in the room where it escaped. I put towels against both sides of the bottom of the door of the room as soon as I found he'd escaped in an attempt to stop him wondering the house.
Keep checking warm areas, that's where I've found escapees. I've heard lots of stories about ppl's snakes just climbing back into their tanks and onto their warm spots.
Above all be patient. Many seem to turn up eventually, under beds, in cupboards, in the sock drawer, back under their heat lamp...

Lol Yep Vat,that and i've always found them in the smallest nook and crannys and most will hang near their cage...talcom powder on the ground at night leaves tracks if they've been cruising round, ibehind the fridge etc,i've rigged up plastic bags etc so i can hear them crawl over them and used food to attract and trap...now nothing gets out unless i'vbe had a few beers and been playing with me snakes lol...good luck!

I have had a couple get out . most of mmy snakes are out side in a shed ,All of my snakes have returned. one came back to her cage at 3:00 in the morning and the others where BHP"s which I keep in the house liked my sons room or in the kitchen cupboards.

I had my stimsoni escape in January and he never came back, but once i realised he was missing I asked on a reptile forum and got a lot of different techniques. Try lying ripped open plastic bags on the floor (mostly close to walls as snakes don?t like being out in the open) and listen for the sound of a snake slithering over it as night. Try putting a mouse in a container with smallish gaps so the snake can get in there to eat it although can't fit out again. With the plastic bags try to sit in the room the snake escaped in at about midnight and listen for the plastic bags, and every 10 minutes of so get up and have a walk around looking along walls with a torch. Other than that check warm places (eg, back of fridge, TV, atc) and put hide boxes around the house

couldn't you get a wire cage that your snake cannot fit into and put a couple mice in there. the smell of the mice would be attracting.

:) Some of the places I've found the odd escaped snakey:

On top of the hot water service
Under the video (small snake)
behind the computer
On top of the TV

I.e. they tend to drift towards something warm. As it's winter, this is more likely, I think.
