IMO i cant see any reason to handle the snake anyway....leave it alone & look from a safe distance.
While you're all having a dig, Matt has been handling, filming and photographing reptiles for quite a few years now. He along with a few of his mates are trying hard to get reptile awareness and the issue of conservation across to the general masses.
While so many of you sit there in your nice comfy couches talking about trying to make a difference Matt IS getting out there in an attempt to to make a difference.
Its easy to judge isn't it!!!
What I'd like to see is less handling and more 'documentary' at a distance. The way it should be.
Rather than the do as I say not as I do type videos that are currently being produced.
I'm fully with you aliveandkicking - there's nothing but good intentions here - but... the above message is far more important - less handling and more facts!
Oh dear.
Fellas, Steve-o is Steve-o and you're not.
kissing snakes regardless of harmless or not is not a professional act ,, yes i agree they are trying to convince public outcry on "the only good snake is a dead one "but as you said they have been working with snakes for a few years now...THEY SHOULD KNOW BETTER THEN... it just gives kids miss conceptions about snakes and in the keel back situation we all know it gets confused with the rough scale and thats all we need people picking up them and giving them a kiss because they THOUGHT THEY KNEW ....... education is the key I agree, BUT COMMONSENSE GOES ALOT FURTHER!and I just dont sit back looking at snakes on the net ,I am a catcher ,and I have never kissed a snake......dont put any snake near your face you only have one set of eyes and if you get tagged in the eye you are at a great risk of losing one ....................10 points for trying to get the word out but 2 points for there presentation:cry:While you're all having a dig, Matt has been handling, filming and photographing reptiles for quite a few years now. I dont wanna fight over this but if you know these guys then have a chat with them ......kissing snakes regardless of harmless or not is not a professional act ,, yes i agree they are trying to convince public outcry on "the only good snake is a dead one "but as you said they have been working with snakes for a few years now...THEY SHOULD KNOW BETTER THEN... it just gives kids miss conceptions about snakes and in the keel back situation we all know it gets confused with the rough scale and thats all we need people picking up them and giving them a kiss because they THOUGHT THEY KNEW ....... education is the key I agree, BUT COMMONSENSE GOES ALOT FURTHER!and I just dont sit back looking at snakes on the net ,I am a catcher ,and I have never kissed a snake......dont put any snake near your face you only have one set of eyes and if you get tagged in the eye you are at a great risk of losing one ....................10 points for trying to get the word out but 2 points for there presentation:cry:
"KING BROWNS" IS A BAD NAME...:?..it gets too many people confused with what the snake is ......eastern browns are a true brown snake .......king browns is reffered to the mulga snake which isnt a brown snake at all ,its part of the black snake family ,and I really wish that the term "KING BROWN" was dropped. He he he i have seen far worse on you Tube, what a gorgeous red belly.
Where i live there is the common misconception that RBBS are worse than "king browns" (easterns of course) and alot of people end up shovelling or shooting them. I'm quite happy for people to believe the lil white lie that where there are RBBS there are no Browns if it stops them from killing them.
These guys will only get better with their little clips-good luck to them.
