hi i have been wanting to get a turtle for ages now but i never have because of how big they grow. but i have been told that they grow really slowly, is that true? & if so how slow is slowly? how long till they will b fully grown?

& any other info would b a great help!!!

thanks!!!

i reacon a good 25 years till fully grown. what type of turtle r u after

It all depends on how much you feed it really. A common mistake from a novice turtle keeper is overfeeding there turtle which allows the turtle to grow quicker then normal.
If you want a turtle that doesnt grow too big I suggest you get a Macleay river turtle which grows to an average size of 16cm.

wow really??? thats amazing.

im not really sure. ive only really heard of long & short neck turtles. what is the best to have as a pet???

are they difficult to keep?

really? ive asked the people at the pet shop if there was any smaller turtles & they laughed at me & said no. 16cm is a better size. how do they look & temperment?

I honestly wouldnt take advice from people that work at petshops unless they really know what they are talking about. Go to this link and check out the species of turtles that are there, it shows a picture of the turtle and a breif description of the species. This site is really helpful if you are looking at buying a turtle or needing information.
