Does anyone know Dr Robert Johnson's personal contact number? If so, please PM it to me.

My Lacie with MBD is crashing all of the sudden and I don't trust anyone else to deal with her.

I tried his clinic, but they are closed early for some reason.

Robert Johnson is highly regarded, but not the only vet with reptile experience and/or qualifications. You should overcome your prejudices and approach another vet if he isn't available - it would be a big betrayal of his privacy, and totally inappropriate for a member here to give you his private contact number.

After hours work comes with a price tag Jamie, a simple yes or no on the phone isnt hurting anyone.

Good luck RSP.

Ok, maybe I should have worded that differently then, how about.
I trust him more then anyone else to deal with her, as he's the only person who has dealt with her for the past couple of years and already knows her history.

If this was any other reptile of mine, I wouldn't think twice about taking her to another vet.

As it turns out, Robert is over seas at the moment. So I ended up taking her to another reptile vet, and since she wasn't entirely sure what was wrong exactly, she put her on both calcium injections under the skin and antibiotics for a couple of weeks.

I can only hope she picks up now. This was completely unexpected, she was perfectly fine 3 days ago when I had her out, and now she looks like she could give up at any moment.

Most veterinary practices have an after hours number on their answering machine. (If they offer after hours service) I'd say calling any other number would be rude.

They had one, but that clinic is in North Ryde, that's to far for me to travel.

If they give you the number of another practice, it's appropriate to use that. How many times do you expect their privacy to be interrupted by a ringing phone at home or wherever they may be, and for them to say politely "no?" I know a number of vets (and other health professionals) and despite the bigger price tag, if they have an established practice, their privacy is very important. The exception would be where there is current ongoing treatment where urgency is important and the vet has offered to make him/herself available on request.

RSP, I apologise if I sounded blunt and that you encountered some uncertainty from the vet you contacted. Most vets should be able to get treatment notes from the usual vets practice to enable them to get a better picture of the problem if they contact the original practice.

Unfortunately, Lacey just past away.

I've been sitting next to her enclosure for a while now, hoping for her to pickup, but she got much worse and past away in front of me

Reptile keeping will never be the same without her. I will miss her dearly. She has a special place in my heart.

Sorry to hear mate, I feel for you. I can't believe how fast your poor monitor went downhill.

So sad to hear about your Lacie RSP, it hurts to lose any reptile, let alone one that you put your heart and soul into trying to help recover... RIP little buddy...
