So I went to check on my year old pygmy dragons to give the a feed the sarvo and I notice one hiding ( wat suspect the female) so I got her out and put her near the veggies and the other one ( must be the male ) came down and started head bobing and biting her neck is he trying to mate with her? What should I do? I don't want her gettin hurt and hiding all the time? Can they live together anymore? Please advice

They are mating... Males do get a bit full on. My girl lost a few toes, but so did the male if you get what i mean.
I never separated mine, just let them go, she will eventually have enough and let him know.....

They had 5 clutches of bubs, with minimal loss....

Maybe someone else can tell you different, just my opinion.

be kind and seperate them,..mating at this age is dangerous for her health. (not to mention unnecessarily stressful)

It sounds like it is time to seperate. Do you want them to breed? If not put them apart. It is a good idea to have them seperate and only introduce them whe you want them to mate otherwise injuries can and will happen IMO

I'd say they are too young to mate....1 year of age the eggs are unlikely to be fertile and it could cause harm to your female pygmy. But that's my opinion. I'd wait until 2-3 years of age until breeding. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion though....

Will he get over this stage or will he do this all the time now?

Bump

he'll do it all the time now, hes hit that age,....they need to be seperated for her sake.

Ok I got pick up a spare enclosure for cheap lucky. It's ashame I really enjoyed watching them hang out together I see pics of other people's beardies hanging out together in photos and that why don't there's bit each other?

alot of people keep dragons seperately, others dont care if their dragons injure each other or are unhappy and stressed. Then theres the lucky few whos dragons get along and live in harmony.

I fully believe in separating dragons except for mating purposes. Simply because a friend of mine had his pair together, they lived together for four years and then he came home one day to a dead female who had her leg bitten off by the male. Both well fed, well kept dragons who had never had a problem before. I just wouldn't run the risk and would keep them separate unless supervised.

I took all ya advice and they parted ways the click clack is obviously tempary until this weekend when I can fix up my spare enclosure
