The uv tubes are apparently only good for a certain distance as well. I was told at a distance of 30 cm they start to lose their effectiveness.

yeah i have heard that too Woma.

I know some one who has kept there bluey in a shed with just a heat light on it and it only got sun on it when they opened the door to the shed he kept it there for about 1 - 2 months.
