Well last night around 11 i was casually feeding my geckos when i heard a bang from my pythons enclosure, i turn around to see him slithering around his cage at 100mph bashing into everything and smacking his head into the glass trying to escape. I had looked at him a few seconds before he did this and he was just basking on his rock as he usually does nice and calm. after about 30 seconds of going absolutely mental he finally calmed down and went back to basking on his rock. I fed him that morning and he ate as usual (he is a pig) and after he ate he had been basking all day like normal. Could this be a problem forming or could something just have frightened him like a spider in his enclosure or something? its almost like he had a nightmare!

Did you have food out at the time? that could be why, but my friend has a jungle python who is very active, the food thing is the only one i can think of

could something just have frightened him like a spider in his enclosure or something?

he he cute usually everything is scared of snakes! ;)

he may not have realised you were in the room and then got spooked, or had a burst of energy?

Or maybe he burnt himself on a heat light or something? I always do when im trying to catch my crazy blue tongue around his enclosure lol

nah he was on the ground when he got frightened, couldn't have burned himself. I think i cricket may have gotten into the enclosure and spooked him while he was resting. He seems to be fine now.
