Hi All,
Last week at work (Melbourne) we found this little guy in a pallet of Bananas, while unloading a truck.
As I havnt seen a White Lipped for a very long time I thought Id take some pics.
It was very placid (not jumpy at all) but that might have something to do with being in the back of a truck for 24 hours at 10 degrees.

When I told the Truckie it hitched a ride with, that I didnt want it and If I hand it to the DSE it will be put down. He got all upset (I wont repeat what he said).
So I kept it over night in a click-clack on a heat mat. The next day, the truckie took it with him as he was going back to the Banana plantation it had come from. This time the frog traveled up front, in the heated cab. It should be home by now.
I wonder if I will get my Click-clack back?

PS

Aaaww, poor lil froggy. He looks all confused. What will happen to him now?

PS Just saw your post. Great news :D

I'm pretty sure they don't get put down, they go to that amphibian research centre in Coburg I think and get rehomed.

I thought that the reason they aren't returned to where they came from is to prevent the spread of the fungal disease that is killing them off...

Thats why organisations like FATS in Sydney take them, quarantine them for 2 months, then offer them to members at there meetings for a small charge to cover the quarantining...If this is the case it probably wasn't the best idea to take it back where it came from...

Ben

If I thought there was any chance of disease, I wouldnt have let it go back. It came from FNQ sealed in the back of a truck. It was then sent streight back.
It had no contact with anything that would cause panic.
