yea, also no games, no millions of types of software to select from, limitations on upgrades and all sorts of fun and games you can have with a PC, yea, do that! NO! :p

they're great for some people though, especially people who don't actually want to know or learn anything (wait, that's most of the population haha!) comes at a price though, a really steep one.

and no malware? HA! google "mac malware" and see just how much there is! it's not free of issues that's for sure.

Mhmm I've looked into Macs before and won't get one, for many reasons that I don't need to list :)

And yeah, I suppose now that you've mentioned it, I do know people can get viruses, trojans and dodgy material onto any website- I should have remembered, it happened to a cousins business website.

Anyway, I'm glad its gone :D

I have this argument everyday at work. In the end I guess if your happy with your computer, why would you change? I was a windows user for over a decade then switched to mac and never looked back.. I do a lot of linux work now days and the 2 systems integrate a lot better than windows.

I get a phone call every couple of weeks from friends and family asking me to fix or speed up their PC's. This has been going on for many, many years. The one trend I have found is, I never get called to fix anyone's Mac. Other than the odd hardware failure.

When people ask me, "what computer should I get?" I almost always suggest a Mac. And it's due to your statement " especially people who don't actually want to know or learn anything". Yes. Your right. Most people want to be able to switch it on, do a couple of things and turn it off.

I'm not wanting to start a to and fro windows against mac. I could sit here and belt out a pros and cons list for every system!

In future just run microsoft security essentials along with malwarebytes keep both up to date and you shouldn't run into any problems.

Hey Ramsayi, thanks for that. I did have microsoft security essentials which didn't block this thing obviously. But malawarebytes already seems great to me so I'm certainly keeping it on board. Thanks for your help :)
