They'd cause as much damage as a single fox/cat. I once read a report that a ranger wrote about the trail of destruction a single feral cat left through a national park...can't remember the exact figures, but it killed a lot of different stuff, including 10+ water dragons.

I guess they'd make good snake food.

See, people like this guy who dont like ferrets are already finding reasons to have them in QLD, So lets get them in :D !!

good, the more petitions the better, so any way, ferrets are really cool and plus guy above me said they make snake food, so there like plastic they have a hundred and one used!

SXE, where are you coming from? What introdoced animals causing havoc in Australian? What are you thinking???

I bet you can't give me 13 examles of where that has happened.

Sorry have to go my dog need urgent attention he's just swalled a cane toad!

You missed:
15/ Portuguese millipedes
16/ European Wasps
17/ European rats (Rattus Novegius ??)
18/ House Mouse
19/ John Howard

Herptrader, you now rule. But I have an issue with the big headed (that's what makes him look short)one.

I THOUGHT HE WOULD HAVE BEEN NUMBER ONE ON THE LIST!!!

Ferets are no solution to our rabbit problem in wild, but it is true that they main menu is Babies rabbits.
They are able to go underground and feed on liters of feral rabbits.
Cats and Foxes are much more damaging to our wild life.
Still I think that lot of native wildlife is killed along by the little bloodthirsty ferrets creatures.

BTW that pesky house mouse is not to be under estimated!

It's the bain of all house proud house wives. Tiny tiny little mousey t*rds don't give a very good impression to the dinner party guests.

Dogs pale in significance compared to cats but they are pack animals and when hunting in packs tend to do a lot of damage. I have personally seen packs of dogs in the Wonnongatta. What surprised me was that the dogs were smaller on average than the feral cats I have seen which were huge!

Mick, no better than cats would be.

We shot 8 wild dogs in about 5 minutes at Millmerran once. We were on top of a ridge, they were underneath us trying to get at a roo they had taken down.
