HI all,

Thommas was collecting dna of Boulengerina annulata stormsi (the Lake Tanganyika Water Cobra) this is not a new species. They are nice but the nominates are IMO much nicer. Others in the genus are B. christyi from the Congo and neighbouring west African countries. Another third full species is yet to be described, known from a couple of west african localities.

For African elapids Pseudohaje goldii are awesome critters as are the Aspidelaps!!!

Cheers,
Scott

OK, maybe I got it slightly wrong, but I am sure he was researching it thouroughly as it had been a land cobra (hood and all) and was in the evolving stage from land to water. A fascinating story none-the-less. :)

The fact that during filming very little was known about the Stormsi was in itself facsinating. Still, the documentary was very interesting.
