Well, i've had this girl since she was a hatchy and she's now three years old. A few months ago i noticed she had suddenly developed white patches. She's in with a male so at first i thought he was getting a little over excited, but on closer inspection, it's her actual scales. Someone said it could be scale rot, but after googling im not so sure..

Anyway, here's some pics. There are two patches.

Any ideas?

I have noticed the same thing in one of my bredli, have no idea.

Looks just like fading pigmentation....Doesn't seem to have any scabbing and the scales look fully intact.

The fading pigmentation is becoming quite common, BHPs and WA stimmis are renowned for it.....

On some occasions this can be a pre-cursor for a genetic morph, eg ochre BHPs, however to produce something significant you would need to extensively line breed from the original animal.

Keep an eye on it though....

My stimmy has had a couple of bright yellow scales on him since he was a hatchling, my murray darling and woma are starting to get white spots like that atm though.. weird.

I've had it on a few things, crapets and even water pythons, it generally clears up about as fast as it come about. I think it'd different to the bhps and wa stimmies.

Carpets aren't that bad are they? :p

Thanks for the replies guys :) I'll definitely keep an eye on it.
