My snake has shed but it didn't come off in one go the enclosure has ilttle bits all over it but there is some still on it's head covering one of it's eyes. Can anyone tell me what I should do please and also how to avoid this in future.

u should try and remove all of the left over skin asap , by either a warm bath to help free /soften the skin. or a damp towl [while holding the towel]and let the snake slither through it a few times . as for preventing it in the future, move the water bowl [ or get another bowl] and put it up in/near the warm end .

Agree with Zoojas. Just to clarify, in case you didn't know, Paul, putting the water bowl up the warm end will create more humidity, and hopefully help the snake shed in one piece.

i had the same problem last month with my 5 month old spotted. I tried the warm wet towel trick but could'nt get the skin soft enough so as he was small enough I filled his click clack with about 5mm of water and locked him in for about 10 minutes then let him out and placed him near the branch in his enclosure to get the shed off which he did successfully almost immediately. They seem to know what to do once the shed is wet enough. I live on south side of Brisbane and this is my first winter with my first snake so I am learning but I think the dry winter weather makes it difficult for them. I have been filling his click clack with hot water and placing it in his enclosure every day or so. The enclosure fogs up so I am hoping this might aid with his shed this month, we'll see.
