Further to the "what's your profession and why" thread, I thought this would be an intersting topic.

Post a picture of what your work space/place looks like.
Some rules for this one though, due to some confidentiality reasons try and keep logos etc out of the picture.

I'll start with my workspace.
This is where I am most days of the week making sure drawings of the roads/tunnels/water pipes/buildings etc that most of you use or pass by are correct.

(Yes that is a zombie on my keyboard, I twist it around to control the volume of my music)

K, I don't have any pics and I won't post any up but picture a Gaol, make it a lil bit smaller, but some trees in there and BINGO

Maybe thats why alot of the roads/tunnels/water pipes/buildings etc that most of you use or pass by are incorrect ;)

I can see your name tag :O

are they reptile thermometers and hygrometers in front of the monitor checking the humidity and such of your office lol

The "drawings" are correct when they leave my desk, but then the contractors have their own idea of what is meant to happen....
good thing about my job, it's either the contractors fault or the engineers, never mine! haha

oh crap, now people may find me on facebook or the likes.....

yes yes they are. if the temp gets over a certain mark, it's a role I gave myself to go and yell at the person who changed the aircon settings. :D

This my workspace at the moment, currently machining train wheels. Up to my 8th axle for the day, makes for a long 12hrs.
The controls

The axle clamped to the machine, the wheel is then spun (the shiny bit in the middle is the new wheel profile)

This is one of the cutters, there are 2 as it does both wheels on the same axle at once.

After ever 12 axles these get changed, then ever tip (golden shiny round things) is indexed. There are 143 tips per cutter, not much fun.

This is the view from my office.

I hate all you people who can get APS on their work computers. Our computers are so restrictive with what we can look at. Stuck looking on my phone :(

I'm just about to leave work so will take one of the building.... its pretty iconic.

Here it is. Such a nice day in Melbourne!
