Lots of diferent looking hawk moths.
We had one here last night that would have been a great feed for a beardie, would have kept it going for a week. It was about the size of a weaner mouse!

Although I'm no expert on moths, it looks like the caterpillar of a Swift Moth, something I found many many years ago. Eventually turned into a big green moth.

:p

Hix

There's the biggest Moth in Australia which i can't recall the name of found around the Innisfail,Tablelands,Cairns area which is absolutely gigantic.Have you seen any of these Mags?

Pilbarapythons"Dave"you would know these guys wouldn't you?

The Hawk moth is i'm told, the fastest flying moth of all time.....a daytime nector feeder....quite common in the North. I used to put a sheet and a fluro-light up, and on a good night, catch several hundred.....these were placed in a jars in the bottom of the fridge, and later used to feed Striped possoms, and other insect eaters such as Night-jars(birds) etc......They'll last several days, becomming active, minutes after comming out of the fridge.....great scource of protien, to use for anyone raising wildlife.......

Looks like a privat hawk moth, we have the heaviest moths here in my yard, wood moths, they bore straight out of my gum trees, they are heavier than sparrows

Geez, I thought bogons were huge, they are massive, size of an A4 piece of paper, now thats a big feed for any beardie....LOL
