Mine is the Lace Monitor (Varanus varius). They are just so intelligent that they need to be respected.
They were also one of the first lizards (besides Lampropholis sp.) that I ever saw outside of captivity.
The patterns that they have are also extremely beautiful, and in my controversial opinion, with the lace phase being far more pretty than the bell’s.
I would love to own them one day, but sadly (like scrub pythons) I simply don’t have the space.
