Our spotted python is 11 months old, 57cm long and 90grams. When should we move him from his little box into his big enclosure 90x45x45)? He moves around a lot at night so we thought he might like a bit more space to explore so we tried it last night. I put his little hide on the heat mat so he could go back into it when the sun came up, but he didn't go back into it and I was worried he might get cold. Would he be able to find the warm spot if he wanted to in the bigger enclosure? These might be silly questions, but I can't tell if he's happy or not in the bigger space.

Get him a new enclosure. If they need the heat, they will do anything to find it, and they sure will
find it. As long as it eats perfectly, that is all the indication to know that it's happy and not stressed from the new enclosure. Give it a week before you handle, all should be well.

Put his click clack inside the larger enclosure with half of it in the warm end and leave the lid open, he will make up his mind when he is ready to move out. Make sure the larger enclosure has plenty of appropriately sized hides. When you notice him not using the click clack any more, then remove it. If he needs heat he'll find it.

If he's in a click clack, I'd probably move him to a 60cm tank before a 90cm one... Big difference in size.... But at 57 cm I would definitely upgrade to what ever you can. I like the idea of putting the click clack inside the new enclosure and letting him decide for himself. Though if you are using a 90cm tank I would recommend a heat lamp rather than a heat mat. And yeah, have hides in the hot and cool end of the enclosure so he can still hide and feel secure no matter what temp he wants to be at
