when will my coastal get fatt

lol just wanting to know when my coastal will start to get a bit of size on him hes about like 5, 5.5 ft and is still only like 40 to 50mm round and has a small head for a carpet python. well looks small to me

How long is a piece of string.Each snake grows at different rates.Generally carpets will get long then the girth starts getting larger.

yeah last time i measured him it was 5ft i think but i havent done it in a few months.

How are you measuring that girth? Are you going around the snake (circumference) or across the snake (diameter).

All depends on how much you're feeding him! How old is he? Was 5 his age or in reference to his length in feet? As mentioned by pythons73, each individual snake has a different rate of growth and if he wasn't fed a great deal in his first few years, he might not max out as big as some of the monster sized carpets out there. Though that said, snakes never stop growing, they merely slow down after reaching an average length for their species (esp. length wise, girth-wise is all to do with feeding and a 'fat' python is not necessarily a healthy one).

hes 3 and a bit years and 5 ft long. and he use to get fed like 3 times a week and about 5-6 items when i first got him now just a big one a week


and the girth is just like if you look at a pice of 50mm pipe he looksa about the same as that..

Ok that is diameter. He sounds about right for his age, sex and length. He is just about at the size and age where they stop putting as much energy into growing long and start putting away fat stores and bulking up instead. You will see him start to put on fatness in the next year.
