I am going to ask only one more time, is there any advantage of joing a herp society in Melbourne??

I don't know about Melbourne, but in Sydney / Wollongong where I attend, I think there is.

I get the chance to listen to interesting speakers and I usually learn something at each meeting. I also get to meet some people face to face who know a lot more about reptiles than I do and who are usually generous about sharing what they know. It's also good to step away from the computer and mix with real, live human beings instead of typing messages to each other.

On top of that, I get the fun of putting faces to some of the user names in here. Sometimes, it's quite a surprise to work out who?s who.

Membership also includes free entry to the Australian Reptile Park and discounts at some pet shops so there is a financial incentive as well. For me, though, that?s secondary to an interesting family night out for my sons and I.
