Fraser— A Fraser psychic apparently didn't see a run-in with the law in her future.
Lt. Dan Kolke with the Fraser Public Safety Department said police received a complaint last Saturday from a female resident about a psychic who allegedly bilked her out of $7,800.
Investigators spoke with the resident who told them she went to the psychic on Feb. 10 to have a spell on her family broken, Kolke said. The 32-year-old psychic owns the Astrology Boutique on 14 Mile.
She told the victim she could break the spell for $7,800. The victim complied, but then later asked for the money back, police said. The victim said the psychic wouldn't return the money, Kolke said.
During the police investigation, the fortuneteller allegedly lied to police about her name and address. The woman also said she didn't take any money from the victim, police said.
Police requested an arrest warrant on the charge of larceny by trick, but then the suspect's father contacted detectives and the $7,800 was returned to the victim, authorities said.
Kolke said the victim didn't want police to pursue charges against the fortuneteller after her money was returned.
