Hey guy's

The latest addition to my collection is a 4 YO Male Woma, The guy I bought him off says he usually feeds every week or so with the usual large rat. He's in very good condition and is quite active at night, Ive had him for two weeks now though I think a week had passed since he fed with the previos owner, he shed last weekend so I thought hed be up for a feed, hes not interested however. Ive tried a couple of things such as smaller mice however hes just not interested, does any one have some tricks up their sleeve to get this Woma's appetite back, He has plenty of hides in his 1200 x 600 x 500 enclosure and temp gradient is 28 to 34.

That sounds a bit too often to be feeding him anyway, especially at 4yrs old. I feed my young ones every 7-10 days and my older ones every 2-3 weeks.

i wouldn't be worried. if he has good body condition a couple of weeks is not going to hurt him, provide water and let him settle in.
If after a few weeks he is still not eating see if you cant get a freshly killed rat from someone or try heating up a rat. i know they dont have heat pits but it seems to work maybe they produce more smell when warm.
Good luck.

"Possibly" a seasonal shutdown...."nothing to worry about" providing he's got fresh water and 33c and 23c heat gradient.....solar 17 [Baden]

Thanks all for the feed back, I will monitor temp gradient, Keep water up to him and let him settle in some more, Maybe give another week before trying again with a smaller rat. I have read a bit about Woma's seasonal shut down, I'm not sure if this guy is doing this as he seems prettty active both night and day, He also has no hesitation to come out and play when his enclosure is opened.
