Just watching ten news about that guy at Bondi had his exotics seized, showed the burm, 4 mt 200lb looks awesome and was in excellent condition. Also saw iggys and freshy hatchy. Guy is faceing $100g fine and hes smiling, lol
Apparently he also has a monkey on a property!!
Couldnt beleive hes hoping to be granted a license lol, I think hes been spanking his monkey!

lol..... I would love to know what the guy was feeding that snake.... OMG it was huge !!!

Probably not many cats around his bondi flats, lol

Fills us in greebs, news said he's still facing court and possible $100G fine. Said something about the magistrate taking into account the animals excellent condition. Maybe hed had a license that expired???

Guys, try 4 metres and 35kgs(77 lbs). Beautifull snake , but boy it hisses like a steam train.

Who said he only received a $1000fine. I would not have thought he'd even been at court yet. It was only a few weeks ago that they were seized. Seems very fast too me. Normally takes months to prepare a case for court.

according to the news 4 mt and 200 lb??? also said he hadnt faced court yet for trial anyway.
beautiful snake it is. certainly "looked" like it might weigh more than 35k, i have no idea how to convert k to lb im not that old

Was found on January 15. Would face a judge to see if it needs to go to trial. If he pleaded guilty, then there's no need for a trial and the judge can sentence then and there (I think that's how it works).

:p

Hix

Hix, he would not face a judge till he gets his summons. They don't normally issue these till they have prepared their case, just in case the person pleads guity. The summon's list the charges he would be facing in court, and as i said before they normally take months.

If he plead guilty, than he must have been in court allready. That would be the fastest I have ever heard of in Australia for reptile offences. If it was only a $1000 fine, what a joke. So much for the federal govt throwing the book at anyone caught after the exotic amnesty. All those still holding exotics, you can breath easier after this disission. The precident for fines has been set for future cases

Instar. For future reference, it is 2.2 lbs per klg. So 35kgs x 2.2 = 77lbs. The snake was weighed at Taronga by the way. People always exagerated lenghts and weights as we all know.

I saw the story on Prime at 4.30pm. They said he was fined 1 grand because he pled guilty and other circumstances. That's all I am going by and they may of got it wrong...it wouldn't be the first time.

ty Biguy, that nugget has been safely stored away up top, where ill probably never find it again. lol :D

The lizards are in quarentine at Taronga, the Burmese is in quarentine at the ARP. I think they have to stay there for around 12 months.

I saw it on the late news and they again said $1000 fine, plead guilty, healthy animals, unlicensed, but is now trying to get the animals back by appling for a license.... FAT CHANCE BUDDY!!!
The system is a Joke!! I wouldnt be surprised if they did give em back considering the pathetic fine he got. pfffffffft!!

I'm with u on this one Mr K...i mean only $1000 fine, like thats gonna deter him from doing it again and obviously its not seeing as he's trying to get the animals back wif a license...they shoulda imposed tougher penalties...
