hey

what's the difference in appearance with MD's and coastals.
in the pics I've seen they look really really similar.

just a general question I guess.

any pics to show the difference would be great.

I don't really know what the difference is apart from locale and colouring..... md's are a silvery/grey with either solid black or black with a bornwy colour in the black markings..... if that made any sense....

Heres some pics to show u the variations between the coastals and md's...

First one is Sway the Coastal, then Karma the Coastal, then Opiate the MD...

Big difference between all of them huh??? thats why i love em so much ;)

Nice snakes cass. Next on my list to get is either a MD, Bredli or an Olive. I'm think either a MD or Bredli because i have a reptile MAD little cousin (who is 11) and he'll no doubt want to have a hold so i don't want it to be snappy so i'd have a better chance of getting a friendly MD/Bredli then an Olive.

On top of that we have a GORGEOUS Olive at Symbio who i get to use when helping out on the reptile shows who has the best nature so i get my olive fix most mondays anyway, lol.

lol sammy has a pair of olives.... you've gotta get a bredli they are so beautiful.... my bredli was my first snake..... but on the other hand i love my coastals and thier variations are always cool...

Yeah i found that "welcome to my zoo" post you talked about. Some seriously cool herps. I saw the Olives, awesome looking things they are. I've always had a soft spot for Bredli and i was leaning towards them......i think come crunch time i won't be able to resist one.

hehehe yep bredi's are beautiful...... i got zenn from 'bigguy' who is in gosford which isnt too far to go get a snake really ;)
lol, don't tease me........i might bite!! I guess it's a good excuse to stop off at the reptile parl as well, lol.

i'll get an olive one day.
that's the snake I saw when I deceided that I wanted a snake.

but a little bit big for a first snke
hehe
next year though.

It is important to understand that not all Inland pythons are Murray-Darlings. This is a common misconception. Murray-Darlings are a locality form of Inland pythons. They are typically black and grey and generally only grow to 6-7ft. There are other forms of Inland python that are not Murray-Darlings.

Hooray - i wanted to show a friend my murray darling juvies and thankfully i can without being ostensibly arrogant by starting my own thread. So the girl is Xana - the little boy is Diego and they're both Murray Darlings.

They're 45-60cm at the moment... and about 5 months old.

As far as I know the differences between Inlands and Coastals is that Inlands are a dark silvery black and dark chocolate brown colour - while Coastals are more yellow/cream and black and more of a milk chocolate brown. Inlands reach about 2metres while coastals can get much bigger - averaging 2.5metres but can be up to 3.6metres. Both have unusually large heads compared to most carpets (they're smarter - lol). I think Inlands can also be divided into either 'Vic' Carpets or Murrays. Anyway - that's all i know.... Here's the piccies. The last one is just me fire twirling - for random fun-ness.

I'm also an olive lover - i like the ones stuffed with feta... no kidding gosh no doubt that jokes been done to death... I mean i like olive pythons too - they made me decide i wanted a python. That's what i liked about the Murrays and Coastals - they 'almost' kinda get as big...

My gosh it's cold tonight!!!

Good luck!
