I have brought a yearling spotted python about 40cm.
I have had him for 11 days and he has feed twice on pinkies and had no problem.
still hasn't popped, he hasn't been to active either (he is in a snap box in his larger inclosure heating)
should I be worried :(

A bit of a strange question, but a family member asked me this, and i didn't know the answer.
I know that snakes by getting better with regular handling become familiar and tolerant of human interaction, but are snakes capable of being familiar with a particular individual ie. their owner or...

Hi all!
I have been deeply in love with snakes since my early years, but never been able to own one. I've been very patient and waited for around 12 or so years now, and I think it's finally time! I have a few questions about everything, so I'll use this thread as a question board that I can...

We just bought our first ever snake, a magnificent Jungle that is about 6 -7 mths old. Only been one night and awoke to see eyes were milky which...
Hey everyone.
About 2 months ago I brought a little stimsons python. It came with a tank that had red desert sand as the substrate. I was assured by the previous owner that it always had perfect sloughs. Since I have owned it, it has had 2 bad/incomplete sheds. The skin comes off in pieces and...
So, my spotty had 13 viable hatchies, they are all in 1 litre tubs with paper towel a water bowl and plenty ov ventilation..... They were hatched a week ago and look healthy and move about.... most sleep alot, 3 go into strike-a-matic as soon as I take the lid off. Today I warmed up some pinky...

I was wondering if this sand would be suitable to put into an enclosure or click clack for my snakes. The sand has been screened and washed, is weed free and child friendly.

Hello folks,
Over here in Scotland stimmies are not very common. You can get ahold of A. stimsoni orientalis but they're about £300 each.
I love the look of them, but don't really know their habits. Both my bredli and my coastal cross jungle are always out on display, which is exactly what I...

Hello everyone,
It is that time of year again when we all start to see photos of dead native elapids popping up in our Facebook news feeds, accompanied with a spiel on how the killed has done society a huge favour by killing a brown/red belly/tiger snake today.
My question is, does anybody...
Hi guys
After having incubator issues last season and losing all of my clutches from multiple pairings I thought I would give maternal incubation a go with my WA Pilbara Stimsons Pythons. This female has done a great job. Looks like all the eggs are healthy and free of mould. They started...
Hi,
I have five Children Pythons just a week old. They have just had their first shed.
Im still trying to get them to feed on pinkie mice.
When would they be old enough to sell?
I own a Stimson Python who is almost 1 year old, and have owned him for about 1 month. His last shed, according to previous owner's records, was on 16/10.
He has been feeding once a week and very well and I last fed him on 28/11. The next day, he stayed in his hide all day and has been in there...
Hi guys just wanted to know your opinion on bedding, is it absolutely necessary too have bedding or can I just have a fake rock floor like I have for a wall, It would look more natural, be cheaper and would probably be easier to clean what do u think.
I have bred my stimsons pythons for the first time this year and am having big problems with dehydration.
I was using the no substrate method in a tub with no ventilation and the eggs have continued to sink. I'm getting readings of 96% humidity and temps around 30.8-31.4c. All eggs appear to...
Hi everyone. I'm just curious as to what laws there are in regards to taking a couple of my stimsons into my 6 year old sons class for show and tell. He has nagged his mother about it for awhile now and she asked the teacher who was more then happy for them to be brought in. I honestly wish she...

Hey Guys.
There's a chance that I may need to move interstate for work and this has got me worried in regards to all of the different rules and regulations this country (motley group of states) has.
We're currently in Queensland and have been licenced for a year now. We have a Jungle Carpet...
Hi guys,
I'm just wondering what is the best snake for a beginner who has never kept a snake before.
Im interested in BHP's and Stimpsons Pythons but anything else is good to.:D
Hi Guys,
I have only posted in the introductions area mainly because i didn't own any snakes yet, i am in the middle of building a DIY enclosure preparing for a purchase next year.
But today i was looking on gumtree under the " Reptile " section ( as i do ) and i came across a advert for a "...
Sorry about asking question's on here all the time, but I like to know from the best reptile keepers and breeders.
So here's another question that I need answered so I know I'll be doing the correct thing for my Stimson Python.
The enclosure I have is 4ft in length, would it be okay if I...
I have a Stimsons python that is 1 year and a month old. She is about 70cm long. WHen will she be mature and full length? and Is this rather big for this species at this age? How big do you think she will get?
CCheers guys!
1. The enclosure I'm purchasing is a 4ft white melamine type with 2 screw in fittings and has an on/off IMIT thermostat, will this be ok for an adult Stimson Python?
2. Because the IMIT thermostat switches on and off when the desired temperature is reached, what kind of globes for heating do I...
I have some Stimsons Pythons to sell, they range from 3 years old to 5 years old, all are in perfect health and always kept in clean conditions.
There are various colours and sexes available. All are feeding easily on thawed rodents and are good to handle, would suit a first time keeper or...
